So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36 NIV
Have you ever heard the saying, “Work smarter not harder?”

I’ve heard it many times in my life, but apparently I’m not that smart.
My mantra must be, “The harder way every day.”
Why else would I continue ruminating about the same things, causing myself needless stress and anxiety?
If I’m not ruminating about things in the past, then I’m pre-worrying about all the things that could happen.
Now, I don’t know about you but I can ruminate and pre-worry all in the same breath.
I know, that’s a pretty amazing talent!
If that talent isn’t enough, I can also become overwhelmed by my health issues, my lack of discipline in so many areas of my life, and all the things that are out of my control but that I wish were different.
Like my talent of being able to ruminate and pre-worry at the same time, I can also be overwhelmed by all the above mentioned issues simultaneously.
Some days it’s a wonder I don’t just have a complete mental breakdown!
Do you ever have any of these same thoughts?
If you do, please allow me to speak truth into both our lives.

When we put our trust in Jesus Christ, we are not only set free from the bondage of sin, we are also set FREE TO LIVE OUR LIVES IN THE CERTAINTY OF CHRIST.
Think about it, if our belief in who Jesus Christ is is so strong that we surrender our fleshly desires to follow Him, believing that one day we will be with Him in Heaven, why then are we not allowing that strong belief in who He is to also set us free from the bondage of worry, self-hate, regret, remorse, etc.?
It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery (Galatians 5:1).
Dear friends, Jesus came to set us free from bondage.
He doesn’t just want to set us free from the bondage of sin. He wants us free from all bondage.
So much so that He gave up His life to give us that freedom.
By giving up His life, He has told us, because He paid such a high price for our freedom, that He doesn’t want us to be just a little bit free. He wants us to be COMPLETELY FREE!
Completely free from worry and anxiety.
Completely free from self-hate and unforgiveness.
Completely free from regret and remorse.
Completely free to live in the certainty of who He is and whose we are.
Completely free from EVERYTHING that keeps us enslaved to the lies of this world (Satan’s kingdom).

Two-hundred and forty eight years ago, with the cooperation of fifty-six men and the swipe of their pen, the United Colonies declared freedom from England’s tyrannical rule. Yet, that freedom is not really complete freedom.
Over two thousand years ago, one man set us free by cooperating with the Father. His signature the blood-stained cross where He hung. In Him we are completely free.
When we find ourselves becoming enslaved to what the world is screaming at us, draw near to the one who gives freedom not by raising His voice, but by raising the dead.
Let freedom ring!
